Acupuncture & Natural Solutions for Foot Pain, Plantar Fasciitis, and Neuropathy

Acupuncture has worked for thousands of years to help people get out of pain.

The super-tiny needles go into your legs, arms, and hands to redirect the blood flow to your feet.  Within 5 minutes, you notice decreased inflammation, improved mobility, and less pain.

Walk This Way.

One of the reasons so many people end up with hip, knee, ankle, and foot issues is that, as a society, we walk the wrong way.

In the last 100 years, we went from being able to walk miles a day without any problems.

Now we drive to our mailboxes.

Strangely, we will search for a parking spot for an extra 30 minutes so that we are in front of the store instead of walking an additional 4 minutes!

Here are some of the things we tend to do while we walk:

1. Lock our knees as we step. (I saw my mom do this while she was visiting me, and was like, "No wonder your knees – and hips and feet – are killing you!")

2. Not activate our glutes as we step. (I have a personal theory about why we don't do this.)

3. Hunch over (also part of the personal theory I'll explain below.)

4. Hold our breath.

When we activate our glutes and stand tall as we step, with our shoulders down and back, we may feel like we're taking up too much space or drawing too much attention to our bodies.

Many women walk this way, especially those with large breasts or height, because we don't always want to attract attention.

When we activate a healthy walk, we feel our glutes squeezing, moving, and going back and forth in an active. This area of our body is related to sexuality, so it's another cultural hot spot we're taught to avoid (for our safety, to fit in, or for religious reasons, etc.) at a young age.

This is also why we hold our breath as we walk. Well, there are probably a few reasons, like always being in a hurry and stressed. Breathing opens your chest and vice versa; breathing can only occur when your chest is open, relaxed, and proud.

When you activate your glutes when you step, you take the strain off the front of your hips and simultaneously strengthen your glutes. This has a cascade effect – for better or worse. For better – strong glutes provide an excellent cushion for you to sit for long periods without pain. For worse – weak glutes can lead to lower back problems, and that's a severe pain in the butt, right?!

I put together this quick video of a chameleon who can teach us how to properly walk. Give it a look. We can learn a lot from this little guy.

He moves very slow so you’ll catch it all!
